Quick little post today! I'm coming in to my last few weeks of college for this academic year, so things are starting to get very, very busy around here! While I'm off tackling the last few projects for this semester, here's an assignment from the last one; a pretty simple 3D walk. I didn't build the model (you can get it here if you like!), but I did have fun with the animation. :)
It's been a long time coming, but The Chicken Song is finally here! Ruth Butler and I have been working on this project for a few months now, and we're both incredibly excited to be able to share it! Ruth, always a treasure trove of ideas, developed the story and song, while I've been busy developing the visuals and animation. The journey has been a fun-filled one, so do please press play, check it out, and subscribe to Ruth's YouTube channel or my Facebook Page or other social accounts to keep up-to-date on our musical adventures! And be sure to have a very happy Easter too!Read More
It's hard to believe February is coming to a close already! It's been a pretty hectic, eventful, fun-filled few weeks for me, and with that in mind, I'm happy to share Ruth's latest song - Love Heart - which celebrates love and life and energy. Click to play! And be sure to stick around, because next month, Ruth and I will be releasing a particularly special project together; which I may have hinted at in the past... :)
This year, Ruth Butler has decided to share an original song every month for six months, and she has asked me to create visuals to match. This is the first of plenty, which I'll be sharing on the last Tuesday of every month until June!
For this one; I really wanted to capture the traditional Irish lilt, the warm emotions, and the general feeling that I had when I first heard the song. Be sure to click to play and listen for yourself!

Last week I shared a teaser for something I was very excited to share; and it's finally here! The first of many videos with music by the wonderful Ruth Butler! For the next six months, Ruth and I will be releasing a new original video every month, which are all just that little bit different!
This is my last post of the year; so I just want to say thank you so much to everyone for your incredible support. Every like and share and follow really helps me out a lot! Looking forward to seeing you all in the new year, and for now; I hope you all have an incredible Christmas!
I've been a bit weary of 3D for a while, but I've started learning the ropes now! At the moment, everything is pretty basic. So far, I've made a bouncing ball and a simple axe throw. But I'm learning, and every step forward counts, eh? (I still prefer 2D animation though!)
This semester, we've started learning how to lip sync, and boy do I love it! I find it really satisfying, giving a voice to a character that I've animated. For this first attempt, we were given a choice of clips to work with, all of which came from the 11 Second Club, and I decided to pick this one from Juno. Positive vibes and life advice dressed up in something of a droll voice; that seemed like it'd be fun to play with. Click the video above to have a listen, and glance below to see the rough workings out behind the scenes. There's also a rough"pencil test" of this guy in last weeks' Multimedia Sketchbook, too, if you're interested in seeing that.
Between all the "real" work that I create, I make a lot of random bits and pieces of things. Illustrations, animations, sounds. Some of them are tiny segments of projects that I'll never share here, some of them are the result of me playing around with software, some of them are the end results of tutorials, and some of them will lead on to final pieces. Either way; sometimes I make things that I kinda want to share, but they don't really warrant a whole blog post on their own. So here, I've gathered a few oddities that fall under that category.
